We offer basic field training
held at Amport, Hampshire
Throughout the summer months the Southern Society holds training sessions twice a month at Crofters Heron, Amport. This is not confined to Red and Whites but is open to any gundog breed that would like to join in and take advantage of the opportunity to train in a quiet country environment. Our sessions are friendly and adaptable to the breed concerned but I stress that basic control is essential to all.
Whilst we concentrate on basic field control, which is the same in all breeds, it would be really informative to hear the experiences of those who have taken training one step further with the Red and Whites. Please come and share your valuable experiences wth us, we would love to have you on board. For further information email: training@ssirws.co.uk
We hold an Assessment Day in September with a visiting judge. The tests are based on control and adapted to suit the breeds entered as necessary. It's a fun day for all, splendidly rounded off by tea and homemade cakes at Crofters Heron.
'I have 25 years experience working my retriever dogs by invitation on regular driven shoots often four days a week throughout the winter.'
Hazel Kirby
Trainer
Use of Crofters Heron for our training is by kind invitation of Muriel Iles and Julia Iles-Hebbert
