Welcome to the Society's website
featuring events for 2012, our 20th anniversary year.

ABOUT THE SOCIETY
The Southern Society was born in 1993 in order to encourage newcomers and to give guidance to understanding the Breed, its care and its training. The idea came from just a few like-minded breeders and has gone from strength to strength, now having around 150 members. In November 2003 the Society gained registration with the Kennel Club.

OUR AIM
Our Aim is to promote interest from all those who own and love the Breed of Irish Red and White Setters, and to provide a community where you can enjoy your dogs to the full, whether it is in the field, the show ring, or as a companion.

To this end we aim to provide various activities every year, constants such as the Open Show, training during the summer months, the Assessment Day, all interspersed with one off events to make life more interesting. The Society's 'Hundred Club' has a monthly draw and in 2012 there will be a special bumper prize to be drawn at LKA Championship Show in December 2012, in celebration of our 20th anniversary.

A full Events and Show Diary is available in Downloads, and up and coming events and notices will be shown on the Notices & Diary page.

We look forward to seeing you throughout the year.

With best wishes
